Kamara is a Native American girl who loves her family and home which is the Island of the Blue Dolphins. Her life changes when white men come to hunt the otter near the island. A terrible thing happens to the tribe and they must leave their island. While everybody else leaves, Kamara stays behind. She spends her days on the island building shelter, hunting, and making enemies to fight off the wild dogs that will stop at nothing for food. I give this book 5 stars because this story of survival is amazing and beautiful.

You have heard the story of Peter Pan right? Have you ever wondered how it all came to be? Read Peter and the Starcatchers to find out. Peter and some of the boys in his orphanage are going on a ship to the kingdom of Ruldoon. The Neverland seems like an ordinary ship but strange things are happening and Peter suspects it has something to with the trunk locked below deck. I give this book 4 and a half stars for its creativeness with the original story Peter Pan.  by S.I. Grade 5

Disabled. That is what Jessica Carlisle is now. She went from running the 400 meter race and setting a record for her school to lying in a hospital bed not able to go to the bathroom by her self. All because of the accident. Jessica was in an accident that caused her to lose her leg. As a star on the schools track team she thinks her running career is over. But with support from her friends, family and Rosa a disabled girl in a wheel chair she might just be able to run again. I give this book a million stars because of how motivational and inspirational it is. by S.I. Grade 5

Kid Lawyer, is the first of a series called Theodore Boone.

Read to see how a 13 year old takes you on a journey through lawyers, courtrooms, and some detective work. A murder happened, it is clean, no evidence is left behind of who the murderer was.  This book does not have as much action that keeps you on your toes, but has a strong foundation. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes mysteries.by J.K. Grade 5

Guest Blog: Dash by Kirby Larson

Dash is a heart warming book that will make you want more and more. Its about Mitsi Kashino and her family when they get taken to a interment camp around the time when the attack on Pearl Harbor took place. She is separated from her friends and her beloved dog Dash. She has one connection to the out side world in which she sends and receives letters with the kind neighbor who is taking care of her dog Dash. I give this book FIVE STARS after you read one page can not stop. If you have a spot in you heart for dogs you will get a extra bad case of Dash fever. by E.P., Grade 5
