One more review before school begins!

I read the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid - Rodrick Rules by Jeff Kinney. It is a story about the things Greg's older brother Rodrick does. My favorite part was when Rodrick had a big party when their parents went away for the weekend. When Greg's parents came home they did not see the mess but a few days after they saw a picture of the party! I think people who like funny books would like this book.

Last day of summer vacation, and one final blog post

The library is ready for your arrival at school next Monday.  I can't wait to see you and hear all about your summer adventures, and of course all the books you read this summer!

The Horse and his Boy is about a boy named Shasta. He finds a talking horse and rides it way to the north and finds Narnia. My favorite adventure was when he finds the 12 tombs and at the end when he is going to leave he hears a roar and it was the Horns of the Tashabaan blowing for the closing of the gates.

There's this cheese on the basketball court and it been sitting there for a long time and at the end of the book the cheese disappears!

This book is about a  drama play and that made me want to read more...
This girl and her friends are in a drama club and they are doing a drama play .
The book is SO FUNNY! Because all the mistakes they made in the practice and in the real play...
I  would recommend people who like or love drama plays would like this book !By O.K., Grade 3

He's back with higher stakes.   It's midnight and his best friend is abducted! It is one of the biggest news in Strattenburgh! Major efforts have been put in to find her. Will she be found or will she be gone for ever? I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries or Theodore Boone series.

Kamara is a Native American girl who loves her family and home which is the Island of the Blue Dolphins. Her life changes when white men come to hunt the otter near the island. A terrible thing happens to the tribe and they must leave their island. While everybody else leaves, Kamara stays behind. I give this book 5 stars because this story of survival is amazing and beautiful.

You have heard the story of Peter Pan right? Have you ever wondered how it all came to be? Read Peter and the Starcatchers to find out. Peter and some of the boys in his orphanage are going on a ship to the kingdom of Ruldoon. The Neverland seems like an ordinary ship but strange things are happening and Peter suspects it has something to with the trunk locked below deck. I give this book 4 and a half stars for its creativeness with the original story Peter Pan.  by S.I. Grade 5

Disabled. That is what Jessica Carlisle is now. She went from running the 400 meter race and setting a record for her school to lying in a hospital bed not able to go to the bathroom by her self. All because of the accident. Jessica was in an accident that caused her to lose her leg. As a star on the schools track team she thinks her running career is over. But with support from her friends, family and Rosa a disabled girl in a wheel chair she might just be able to run again. I give this book a million stars because of how motivational and inspirational it is. by S.I. Grade 5

Kid Lawyer, is the first of a series called Theodore Boone.

Read to see how a 13 year old takes you on a journey through lawyers, courtrooms, and some detective work. A murder happened, it is clean, no evidence is left behind of who the murderer was.  This book does not have as much action that keeps you on your toes, but has a strong foundation. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes mysteries.by J.K. Grade 5

Our first guest bloggers of the summer!

While Fly Guy was busy vacationing at Hampton Beach, some of you have been busy reading and blogging!
Ava Anderson can't stop worrying. She worries all the time, she even worries that she can't stop worrying! When Ava gets her hands on a pencil that can answer your thoughts she makes the pencil answer all the questions she wants. It seems great at first but soon Ava realizes that some questions remain better unanswered. I recommend this book to people who like books where something magical happens and the characters become better people because of it.

The book The Wide Window is the third book in the Series of Unfortunate Events.  I loved this book because it is exciting and mysterious. The series is about three kids whose parents perished in a fire. Each book is about them living with a different relative because something had happened to the relative that they had in the last book, but in every book the first relative, named Count Olaf keeps appearing in every book with a disguise so that the children wouldn't recognize him, but of course they always recognize him. In this book Count Olaf is disguising himself as a sailboat seller named Captain Sham. In the book Captain Sham forces the children's guardian, Josephine, to give the children to him. Josephine is scared of everything so she writes a note to the children saying that she went to Curdled Cave, so the children steal a sailboat and sails across the lake in a hurricane. Will they make it across? Oh yes I forgot to tell you about the Lachrymose Leaches who will eat you alive!

Bunker Hill Day

Fly Guy is at a site that was very significant on April 17, 1775.  Fifth graders, you may know where he is. Hint: It is in Charlestown, MA.

Here's a book hint:

Fly Guy was at Breed's Hill, at a Bunker Hill Day parade.  The first major battle of the Revolutionary War took place here on April 17, 1775.  The British won control of the hill, but lost half their their men in the battle,
